Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our Logistics/Transporation company. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The controllern will aldo be rsponsible for developing accounting policies, moniter the company's financial status, review quarterly/annual budgets and manage accounting transations. This is a key leadership role within the organization, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information.

Duties:

- Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including general ledger reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory reporting

- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles and tax regulations

- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets

- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships, ensuring all payments are completed on time ( including accounts payable and bank deposits)

- Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments

- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training and managing Accounting staff

- Analyze costs and profits

- Set and track financial KPI's

- Build risk assesment models to evauluate investments

- Report on financial satus on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed

- Maintain accurate and up to date filling system

- Perform internal audits and assist with external audits

- Oversee payroll

- Manage equipmet inventory

- Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure accuracy of financial records

- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, providing recommendations for process improvements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)

- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA designation strongly preferred

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

- Thorough knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

- Proficiency in accounting software applications

- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail

- Attention to detail and ability towork with tight deadlines

- Experience with cash management and risk assesment

- Hands on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts recievable
